Wyoming County doctor killed in crash

 

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision resulting in one fatality.

On September 24, 2024 at 2:26, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received the report of a multiple vehicle collision at the intersection of Wethersfield Road and Hermitage Road in the Town of Wethersfield. Upon arrival, deputies located two involved vehicles off the roadway to the northwest of the intersection. The involved vehicles were a 2024 Subaru and a 2022 Ram Tow Truck. The driver of the 2024 Subaru, Dr. Richard T. Milazzo, Jr., of Silver Creek, NY, was found unresponsive at the wheel and was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Wyoming County Coroner.

Assisting Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Deputies at the scene were a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Evidence Technician and the Wyoming County Crash Management Team. Initial investigation has determined that Dr. Milazzo’s vehicle was westbound on Wethersfield Road at a stop sign, when his vehicle proceeded into the intersection and into the path of a southbound tow truck on Hermitage Road, which had the right of way. The tow truck collided with the driver door of Dr. Milazzo’s vehicle, and both vehicles slid off the roadway to the northwest. No charges have been filed at this time.
