Dick was in the Air Force during the Korean War in the early 1951-1955 stationed mainly in Japan.
Dick attended Alfred University and graduated in 1959 with a BS degree in Finance. Dick married Shirley Erickson(Engle) on Nov 20, 1959 and they were happily married for 64 years.
Dick was a bank Vice President working at First Trust Union Bank, Norstar, Fleet Bank, Bank of America, and the Bank of Holland(and several others) over a 35 year career.
Dick loved gardening, wood working, Allegany County history, and road maps. Dick was very interested in, and spent a considerable amount of time, researching businesses and investments.
Dick loved his family dearly, and felt fortunate to be able to live to 93 years old while staying healthy and joyful.
Dick is survived by two sons Robert(Bob) and David(Dave), daughter in laws Patricia(Pat) and Katherine(Kate), and six grandchildren, Peter James(PJ), Zachary, Karen, Thomas(Tom), Michael(Mike), and Amanda.
In lieu of flowers, donations Alfred University or the Thelma Rogers Genealogical and Historical Society would be appreciated.
A private graveside service will be held at the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica, New York.
Funeral arrangements are with the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Angelica.
