Obituary: Sandra L (Perry) Hackett 81, Almond
ALMOND - Sandra L (Perry) Hackett 81,passed away 4/28/24 peacefully at The Club at Lake Gibson in Lakeland,FL Sandra was married on December 28,1960 to the love of her life Harold B Hackett Jr who preceded her in Oct 2023 after 62 years of marriage. She is survived by her son Michael Hackett of Richmond,VA, her daughter Shelly (Jeff) Brown of Almond,NY, grandchildren Samantha VanBuren, Cheryl Hackett, Jamie (Diego) Heras, Cassie (Robert) Tyler and Jennifer (Ash) Hackett; 6 great-grandchildren-Graham, Maggie, Alan, Leonardo, Olivia and Grace whom she loved to spend time with and watch run around and play. She is also survived by her brothers Larry (Liz) Perry of Almond, NY and Robert (Christine) Perry of Columbus OH and a sister in law Carol (David) Leet of Coudersport, PA and several nieces and nephews. She was truly blessed to have such dear friends in Florida- Lee, Linda, Jody, the Joyce’s, the Turner’s and the Huffer’s. She was also preceded by her parents Lawrence and Margaret Perry and granddaughter Jessica Lynn Brown. A graduate of Alfred-Almond Central School Class of 1960, Alfred State College and Alfred University. Sandie was employed for over 20 years at the Scholes Library at Alfred University. She enjoyed many activities during her life such as golfing, bridge, reading, doing puzzles, knitting and crocheting, Sunday Social gatherings, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the 20th Century Club with the Almond Library, Almond Historical Society, Alfred State AOW-executive president, Wellsville Country Club, Cypress Lakes Country Club. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday May 25, 2024 at the Almond Community Church, Almond, NY a short service will begin at 2pm with a social gathering immediately following in the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to the Almond Historical Society or a Library of your choice.
