At Morrison Hayes Post 702 Election of Officers meeting on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 Past Post Commander Brent W. Roberts passed the gavel to newly elected Post Commander Yvonne Simmons.
Brent Roberts Morrison Hayes Past Post 702 Commander of the Wellsville American Legion is an United States Army veteran and has served as Post Commander for the past 10 years. He has sacrificed many hours for the Post and the Wellsville Area. Commander Roberts has been Master of Ceremonies for many ceremonies such as Flag Day Services and Legion Birthday and Veterans Day Dinners. He has led with integrity, innovation, passion, empathy and courage of a 1,000 plus veterans’ family-based organization. We wish him well in the future, but he will remain for another office.
Meet Morrison Hayes Post 702 American Legion Commander Yvonne J. Simmons. She served in the United States Marine Corps and is a 5 year member of the Legion and a 20 year member of Unit 702 American Legion Auxiliary where she has held the positions of 1st Vice and Treasurer. She is a daughter, wife, mother of 2, grandmother of one and has 2 sisters and several nieces. Most of her family are members of the Wellsville American Legion family.
