COVID forces Bath schools to close Monday

To All of our Students, Staff, Parent, and Community Members:

Sunday, we received word from Steuben County Public Health of a family with multiple children in different grade levels who have tested positive for the COVID virus.  At this time, to allow for deep cleaning of our buildings and to allow ample time for the extensive contact-tracing process by public health, we are making the following changes to our school schedule:

Monday, October 5, 2020 will now be a Superintendent’s Conference Day.  This means NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS for MONDAY ONLY.  Teachers should report as directed in their staff robocall.  12 month employees should report as normal.

Tuesday, October 6, 2020 will be a remote learning day for all students.  Students will not report physically to school, but will follow directions given to them from robocalls from their principals and from normal already established forms of teacher communication such as Class Dojo, Google Class, Zoom, or email.

Hybrid classes will return as normal on Wednesday with the white team in-person and the blue team working remotely.

If anything changes as a result of the contact-tracing procedure with public health, we will contact again you via robocall.

All after school events for Monday have been cancelled. This includes practices and games.

We apologize for the inconvenience.  We would much rather see all of our students every day.  Extra time is needed due to this complicated case to make sure we can return safe on Wednesday.  Lets use this as an opportunity to prepare for future remote learning days and continue to attend in a safe manner.

Joe Rumsey, Superintendent
