Yates County: Driver killed when SUV catapulted off 100 foot drop and explodes

Just before 10 o’clock Sunday morning, the Yates County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle crash on Route 14 near State Route 54 in the village of Dresden. Deputies said a Jeep SUV catapulted of Route 14 at the east side of a large bridge and landed near Keuka Outlet Stream, a nearly 100-foot drop. The vehicle was destroyed by fire. The driver was killed. An autopsy will determine the person’s identity. Deputies say that the crash may be related to a reported missing person and that the incident may have been a deliberate action…but nothing has been confirmed.
