A fire Thursday evening badly damaged a home on Main Street in Almond. The blaze started in a garage and quickly spread to the two-story structure. Multiple departments responded to the scene. One person was taken to St. James Hospital with smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Update: The State Police blotter indicates this was a fatal fire.
