Andover Lions 400 Club Rescheduled for Saturday

Andover Lions Club has rescheduled the annual 400 club to Saturday August 22.  President Lion Jeannie says, “The Andover Lions promised a chance at $5,000 in prizes and a meal for each ticket sale and we will honor that offer with a drive through event.”
Prizes will be drawn beginning at 10 AM. Winners will be contacted for payment. Paid up 400 Club ticket holders may pick up Stern’s chicken dinners beginning at noon at the Andover Fire Hall. Any leftover dinners will be available for purchase for $10 each after 2 PM.
Andover Lions have been serving the community since 1971. Sight and vision related health projects remain Lions Club International’s major charity effort. Locally the Andover Lions are involved in funding youth sports, educational scholarships, Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets, medical equipment loans and many other grants and participation in community events.
Club President Jeannie Walker Todd is presiding over a difficult and unpredictable year due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 situation. In March, the club cancelled the Andover Maple Festival for the first time since 1972. The 400 Club is the second largest activity and fundraiser for the Andover Lions. Ticket sales, which began in the Fall, had already sold more than half of the tickets before it became obvious that the May event could not be held as planned. The social party nature of the event, with its raffles, auctions and games is regrettably unfeasible.
At the time of this press release about twenty tickets are still available for $30 each. To purchase call Walker Metalsmiths at 607-478-8567. Donations to support Andover Lions Club charities are accepted year-round at PO Box 772, Andover, NY 14806.
