Man injured, home damaged when tree falls on Wellsville home
A 24-year-old man suffered a reported serious arm injury Sunday
morning when a large pine tree fell on a two-story Wellsville home. The
incident happened at the Doxey residence at 4604 Bolivar Road, between Miller
Road and Petrolia Road. The state highway was shut down when a medical
helicopter landed at the scene and transported the man to a trauma center.
Wellsville fire, EMS and rescue along with Bolivar ambulance all responded to
the scene. Structural rescue personnel spent more than four hours at the scene
evaluating the safety of the home. Town of Wellsville Code Enforcement was also
alerted. The Wellsville Fire Chief requested the home be deemed unsafe and utility companies were also notified.
