June Louise Spencer, 91, formerly of 8997 County Rte 52, Burns, died October 13 of advanced Alzheimer’s Disease. She had resided at Brookdale Memory Care Home, Highlands Ranch, CO since April 2017, near her daughter’s family.
Born in Buffalo, NY on June 30, 1928, she was the daughter of Werner and Rose (Barone) Kaiser. She graduated from high school in Penn Yan, NY in 1946. She attended a year of Bible college at Elim Bible School and went to Freeman Business School in Geneva.
June was married March 17, 1951 to Andrew Spencer, who passed in 2011. Andy and June owned Spencer Farms in Burns raising corn, oats, hay and beef cattle and ran a dairy operation.
June was active in the Burns Community Church, serving as pianist and treasurer for many years. She had also attended Valley Wesleyan Church in Canaseraga.
June is survived by her sister, Doris (Rev. Paul) Anderson of Bath, NY, her son, Stephen (Jael) Spencer of Burns, her daughter, Julia “Dot” (James) Scales of Littleton, CO, five granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be at the Bender, Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Hornell on Friday, Nov. 1 from 4-7:00. A graveside service is planned for Saturday, Nov. 2 at Heritage Hill Cemetery in Arkport at 11:30 immediately followed by a lunch reception at the Arkport American Legion.
