The former Alfred University professor accused of attempting to run down a colleague with his car has avoided prison time. In court Thursday, 45-year-old Christopher Foster of Alfred Station was sentenced to serve five years of probation, along with a $325 court surcharge. Foster had faced a bevy of charges from Alfred police to include attempted vehicular assault, DWI and three counts of fleeing an officer. He eventually pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless endangerment. The court also issued a five-year order or protection.
