Obituary: Edwin L. Bower, 84, Fillmore

Fillmore --- Edwin L. Bower of 121 W. Main Street died Monday, September 16, 2019 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. He was born on December 12, 1934 in Munday, West Virginia, a son of the late Bernard and Mildred Wyer Bower. On May 12, 1956 in the Fillmore Methodist Church he married Martha Preston who survives.

Ed was a graduate of Wellsville Central School and a former employee of Fillmore Gas Company. He also was attending the Fillmore Wesleyan Church.

He enjoyed attending auctions and was a collector of all items.

Surviving in addition to his wife are their children, Gail (Steven) Beardsley of Perry, James Timothy “Tim” Bower of Fillmore, Thomas E. Bower of Fillmore, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Donna Bower of Fillmore and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Bernard L. Bower and Robert L. Bower.

Family and friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Fillmore Wesleyan Church, 20 E Main St, Fillmore, where a funeral service will follow. Rob Engler, pastor of the Fillmore Wesleyan Church, and Joel Stroud, pastor of the Hume Baptist Church, will co-officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore.
