PRESS RELEASE
Four people were arrested in Olean and charged with making
Methamphetamine inside 112 South Eighth Street Friday night at approximately
9:20 p.m. Investigators assigned to the Olean Police Department's Street Crimes
Unit obtained a search warrant and were assisted by the Emergency Response Team
and patrol unit in serving the warrant. Captain Robert Blovsky said “the
persons arrested were allegedly in the process of making Meth and due to the
dangerous chemicals involved, the next-door apartment was evacuated until it is
deemed safe.” Child Protective Services was also notified and responded for the
four children who were present inside the apartment. The children were later
turned over to a responsible relative. The scene was secured to await arrival
of the New York State Police C.C.E.R.T. for evidence collection and disposal of
the waste made by the Meth making process. All suspects arrested were charged
with the following:
-Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 2nd. Degree
(class A Felony)
-Unlawful manufacture of Methamphetamine 3rd. degree (class
D Felony)
-Endangering the welfare of a child (A misdemeanor)
-Criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree (A
Misdemeanor)

All arrested persons were arraigned in Olean City Court and
held without bail.
