Allegany County: Two burned, one seriously, in Clarksville house fire
Two people suffered burns, one seriously, in a house fire in Clarksville Saturday afternoon. The alarm came in during the 4 p.m. hour at a home at 9584 LaFever Road. When a chief arrived on scene, he told 911 there was "light smoke showing." Later radio reports indicated that an elderly female sustained possible second and third degree burns to the head and hands. An elderly male also sustained burns, described as first degree burns. Mercy Flight was called in and the woman was flown to Strong Memorial in Rochester. The male was transported by ambulance to Olean General Hospital. Units responding to the scene included Clarksville, Cuba, Friendship, Westons Mills, Portville with Bolivar placed on stand by. No word yet on what triggered the fire.
