One dead in Potter County crash

An 80-year-old man was killed Wednesday afternoon when the motorcycle he was operating crashed on Cherry Springs Road in Abbott Township, Potter County. Deputy Coroner Kenneth Wingo pronounced Thomas D. Taylor of Bolton Landing, NY dead at the scene. Pennsylvania State Police said Taylor lost control of his motorcycle when he encountered a patch of gravel on the roadway. Troopers said he was thrown from the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet. Coudersport Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
