Wellsville residents reminded - they have to mow lawns
Rainfall has been abundant in the Wellsville area for the past several weeks...no months...well, it's been rainy! However, lawns still have to be maintained. The Village of Wellsville Code Enforcement Office has been been flooded (no pun) with complaints about residents not mowing lawns. Jo Fenske is the village code officer. She tells WRN she is well aware that it has been rainy and yet, she says on the good weather days, residents need to cut the grass. It's the law, she says and either her or police can issue a ticket...which will cost you money. Fenske said today that the normal process is that either she or police hang individual notices on the offending homes or business. She added, "Failing to do so can result in tickets being issued inviting you to court and possibly fines being assessed. No one wants that to become necessary."
