Knights Creek Church at 2987 Knights Creek Road (County Road
9) will recognize and thank veterans and those on active duty, along with their
families, during its 11 a.m. service, with dinner to follow.
The activity is part of the church's weekly free Community
Dinner for individuals and families, according to Pastor Carl Kemp. Veterans who may be participating in 11 a.m.
Veterans Day services at various locations are welcome to come to the church
after these are concluded.
Knights Creek, which describes itself as "The Country
Church with the Heart of Christ," is engaged in a number of community
outreaches, including free Sunday afternoon music lessons for children and
adults, serving as a host site for Celebrate Recovery/Celebrate Victory from 7
p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays for adults of all ages who are struggling with any
type of hurts, hangups, habits or destructive behaviors, and new First Friday
of the month alternating coffee houses and movie nights. Congregants are part of a team that goes into
Allegany County Jail weekly to present Celebrate Recovery to inmates and also
provide other ministries to help those who are struggling to cope with the
upcoming holidays.
In addition, the church holds a 6 p.m. service on Sundays, a
6 p.m. Bible study Wednesdays, and community prayer from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
each weekday for anyone with community, family or individual concerns.
