Harry V. Woodward, 91, of Belmont, NY, died Tuesday,
November 20, 2018 in Wellsville Manor Care Center, Wellsville, NY. Born February 7, 1927, in North Hornell, NY,
he was the son of Claude Frederick and Genevieve Victoria Hirt Woodard. On May 9, 1953, in Olean, NY, he married the former
Mildred A. “Millie” Black, who predeceased him on March 17, 2018. A World War II Veteran, he served honorably
with the US Marine Corps. He was
employed as an engineer by the New York State Department of Transportation.
Harry was a member of the Scio Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter, woodworker, and a
computer enthusiast in the early days of modern technology. Surviving are: three children, Mark S. (Percillah) Woodard
of Brockport, John W. (Marie) Woodard of Rushford, and Kandace S. Caley of
Canton, OH; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Dorothy Higby of Olean, NY and
Gerald (Janet) Woodard of Ballston Spa, NY;
nieces and nephews. In addition
to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Steven H. Woodard; a granddaughter,
Lori W. Sanborn; and two siblings,
Claude Raymond Woodard and Ann Crippen.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2018 in
Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville, NY. The Rev. Bill Lawson will officiate. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Scio, NY
on a later date. Memorials may be made
