Addison man arrested during traffic stop on I-390


INTERSTATE 390: Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of an Addison, NY man on drug related charges after a traffic stop.
On November 3, 2018 Deputy Shawn Whitford was assigned to the Operation Safe Interstate initiative when he stopped a vehicle on Interstate 390 for a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as 64-year-old Robert A. Desandro. During the Deputy Sheriff’s roadside interview he allegedly observed crack cocaine in plain view on the driver seat. Further investigation revealed that Desandro was allegedly in possession of crack cocaine on his person as well.
Desandro was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.
Desandro was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Desandro was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Village of Dansville Justice Scott Kenney. The Judge released Desandro on his own recognizance.
