14 hour standoff ends peacefully in McKean County, PA

A 14 hour standoff ended peacefully after Pennsylvania State Police responded to a domestic dispute at 11:53 a.m. Friday at 21011Route 6 in Liberty Township. Troopers said the man allegedly threatened to burn the house down with everyone inside. Family members escaped the home and the man, reported armed with a gun, barricade himself inside the home. The incident forced the closure of Route 6 for some 14 hours. the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team was activated and the suspect was eventually found hiding in the attic. According to police, the man refused to listen to police command; he was then tazed and taken into custody. The man was then transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center for medical treatment and a mental health evaluation. Assisting at the scene:
