Local government officials from across the county will gather on Saturday, Nov.
3, for the 89th annual convention of the
Potter County Assn. of Township Officials. Organizers have changed the format
and venue for this year’s gathering, according to Nancy Grupp, association
president. Doors of the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Dept. meeting rooms will open
at 7 a.m. for registration and the program will start at 8 a.m.
There will be a panel discussion and question and answer session on issues
related to municipal government. Representatives from the Potter County Planning
Commission, PennDOT, Potter County Conservation District, Pa. OneCall, Erb
Inspections and a township solicitor will participate. Attendees will also hear
a presentation from Elam Herr(shown), who has served the Pa. State Assn. of
Township Officials for more than 40 years. He’ll discuss legislation affecting
township and borough governments and related topics. There will be a mid-morning
brunch and informal gathering with vendors. The convention will conclude at
noon.
