BELMONT - Shirley A. Benjamin, 81, of 4822 Back River Road
passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Olean General Hospital following a
courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 12, 1936 in Belmont the
daughter of the late Gerald and Lillian (Clair) Clark. On July 9, 1955 in
Belmont, she married Richard Benjamin who survives.
Shirley was a 1955 graduate of Belmont Central School, and a
1973 graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing. She was a licensed practical
nurse at Cuba Memorial Hospital for many years, and later was employed as a bus
driver at Genesee Valley Central School from 1993 to 1999. She was also very
active with “Dick's Bees” her husband's honey business, which he founded in
1975.
Surviving in addition to her husband is one son, James (Kim)
Benjamin of Baker, Florida, two daughters, Vicki (Jeff) Baker of Friendship,
and Debra Wilmot of Union Springs, NY 10 grandchildren, eight great
grandchildren, one brother, Norman Clark of Flower Mound, Texas, a
sisters-in-law, Genevieve Clark of Friendship, and as well as several nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased in addition to her parents by a two brothers,
Raymond and Edward Clark, a son-in-law, Anthony Wilmot, and a sister-in-law,
Gloria Clark.
Friends are invited to call from on Saturday, November 3,
2018 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Belmont United Methodist Church. The
funeral will follow visitation at 2:00 pm in church with Rev. Clara Wilder
presiding. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Belmont. Please consider
