Marjorie was a long time resident of Pleasant Street and
later the Wellsville Manor Hills on the Bolivar Road. She was a graduate of
Wellsville High School who had worked for Dresser Rand, Air Preheater, and for
a time she lived and worked in Arizona. Marjorie was also a self employed
florist. She was raised in the Trinity
Lutheran Church and later she attended the former Christian Temple Church.
Marjorie was a member of the the American Legion Post #702 Auxiliary of
Wellsville who loved playing cards, including bridge, and enjoyed painting at
Manor Hills.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Susan D. Hand of Cornville,
Arizona, and Nancy [Danny] Brooks of Penn Yan; a daughter in law, Deb Owen of
Wellsville; 4 grandchildren, Tjay [Ruthann] Mott, Brent Perkins, Kristen [Mark]
Bechara, and Mark Owen; 3 great grand children, Gabrielle, Elias, and Isabella;
a brother, Allen Hunt of Wellsville; a sister in law Linda Boundy as well as
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her long time companion, Robert “Bob”
Owen, her 2 sons, Ronald and Mark Hand; 2 brothers, Jackie and Raymond Hunt; a
sister, June Enos.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Grace
United Church on North Main Street in Wellsville on Monday November 5, 2018 at
11 am. In lieu of flowers memorials in Marjorie's name may be made to either
the Grace United Church of Wellsville or to the Penn Yan Volunteer Ambulance
Corps at 205 North Avenue, Penn Yan, NY.
