Howard I. Harding, 85, formerly of 8784 Hubbell Hill Rd.,
Cuba, passed away Tuesday, September 04, 2018 at the Absolut at Houghton
following a lengthy illness.
Born on April 28, 1933, in Angelica, New York he was a son
of Ruben and Hazel Scott Harding.
Howard was a graduate of Angelica Central School. He also served in the United States Air Force
1952-56 receiving the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal for
his service.
He had worked as a Laborer for LC Whitford Co., in
Wellsville and then went to work at Cuba-Rushford Central School where he was a
Groundskeeper and Custodian for many years prior to retiring.
Howard was a member of Shawn M. Clemens Memorial AmVets Post
1 of Cuba, Cuba American Legion Post 655, and a former member of the Cuba
Friendship Masonic Lodge 306 F&AM.
He enjoyed mowing lawn, gardening and model airplanes. He is
survived by his children Jamie (Marilyn) Harding of Fillmore, Dana (Cindy)
Harding of Hilton and Darcy (Peter) Nagle of Raleigh, NC; 6 grandchildren and 5
great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Beatrice (Charles) Reed of Virginia; several nieces
and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers Pete
Harding and James Harding and a sister Theda “Punk” (Leon) Litzenberger. Friends
will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service,
Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until noon
followed by Graveside Services and Military Honors at the Until the Day Dawn
Cemetery in Angelica. Memorials may be
