Allentown man pleads guilty to child endangerment; attempted sex abuse count dropped
An Allentown man pleaded guilty Thursday in Allegany County court to endangering the welfare of a child. Seth A. Prentice, 28, was initially charged with attempted 1st degree sexual abuse and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. According to a press statement from the District Attorney's office, on September 17, 2017 in Wellsville, Prentice attempted to subject a child under age 11, to sexual contact. Judge Terrance Parker heard the case and sentenced Prentice to three years probation, a $205 surcharge and a $50 DNA fee. Wellsville Police Chief Timothy O'Grady said at the time of the arrest the victim involved was "elementary age" and was a "family acquaintance." The case was prosecuted by Assistant DA Mike Finn. Prentice was represented by attorney Peter Degnan.
