Wellsville: Siemens/Dresser Rand to close

There was a collective gasp in Allegany County when Dresser-Rand, a Siemens business, announced it would close its manufacturing facility in Wellsville within two years. Company officials met with workers Monday afternoon. Employees were told that Curtiss-Wright is purchasing the Dresser-Rand government business and services portfolio. The commercial Power Generation Services (PS) work performed at Dresser-Rand will eventually be transferred to Charlotte and other Siemens facilities. 250 employees are impacted. Siemens operations in Olean and Painted Post are not affected.
