BREAKING: Bolivar man found dead in Wellsville
A 24-year-old man whose last known address was North Main Street in Bolivar was found dead Thursday morning along the "old airport runway" in Wellsville. State police have identified the man as Corey J. Haggard. State Police Investigator Jed Murphy told WRN this afternoon that "I don't think anybody hurt him"...noting that there was no trauma to the body. Investigator Murphy did say that evidence was recovered at the scene that made it helpful in the investigation. Police said the body was discovered by a friend about "1/4 of a mile down the runway, past the barricades." Wellsville Rescue was called to assist in recovering the body, which has been sent to the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. Inv. Murphy said Haggard was "familiar to law enforcement in Wellsville and Bolivar." He was reportedly last seen in the Wellsville area on Monday. The State Police Forensic Identification Team from Batavia responded to the scene. At this time, Inv. Murphy said the case has been classified as "an unattended death."
