Obituary: Harlan J. Fancher, 90, Bolivar
Bolivar - Harlan J. Fancher, 90, of 156 Evans Ave. passed
away Monday January 15, 2018 in Olean General Hospital following a brief
illness. Born September 28, 1927 in Bolivar, he was the son of Homer and Gladys
Phillips Fancher. Harlan married the former Virginia Russell on February 13,
1948; Mrs. Fancher survives. Harlan was a former driller in the local gas
fields. He was later was employed as a welder for the former Turbodyne Co. in Wellsville
for twenty-three years, retiring in 1989.Following his retirement Harlan
operated a watch repair shop in his home. Surviving in addition to his wife are
two sons, Gary (Lois) Fancher Black Creek, and Alan (Lois) Fancher of Cambridge,
MN; Six grandchildren, twelve
great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren as well as one brother,
Keith Fancher of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by; a granddaughter,
Angela Fancher; two sisters, Dorothy Weber, Norma Stewart and one brother Jack
Fancher. There will be no prior visitation or funeral service. Burial will be in
Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar. Memorials to Richburg Fire Dept. Ambulance Fund
