Obituart: Shirley J. Weatherly, 62, Cuba native

Shirley J. Weatherly, 62, of 310 Spring Creek Dr., Horseheads, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday November 3rd. Born on November 22, 1954, in Cuba, she was a daughter of Kenneth and Neva Benham Weatherly. Shirley worked for Chemung County BOCES in the Accounting Department. She enjoyed reading, going to plays and especially enjoyed her family and her cats. Surviving are two brothers, David (Deb) Weatherly of Cuba, Dale (Lois) Weatherly of Freeman, Virginia; Four sisters, Sandra (Chuck) Prentice of Short Tract, Sharon (Joseph) Kowlaski of Olean, Sue  Charles) Runyan of Belfast and Sarah Weatherly of  Florida; Sister in Laws, Trudy M. (Phillip) Capitani-Stark Olean, Joyce Weatherly of Friendship, Shirley Weatherly of Black Creek; Several Nieces and Nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Dean Weatherly and Donald Weatherly. Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. at which time a Memorial Service will be held.  Pastor Clara Wilder of Rivers Edge Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers it was Shirley’s wishes that memorials in her name be made to A New Start Kitty Shelter, 6342 Denton Corners Rd., Castile, NY 14427.
