Wyoming County: Milk truck crashes, driver hurt
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office investigated a single
vehicle Tractor/Tanker rollover injury crash at the intersection of State Route
98 and Beaver Meadow Road in the Town of Java.
The investigation showed that Ja-Ryan Marquis Steen, 24 of Arcade, was headed East on Beaver Meadow Road when he
allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign at State Route 98 and left the eastside of
Route 98, causing the tractor/tanker to enter a deep ravine and rollover onto
its drivers side. STEEN was extricated
by emergency personnel after the use of a heavy wrecker tow truck to move the
cab of the truck. STEEN was driving a
milk tanker truck and had just left a nearby farm on Beaver Meadow Road moments
before the accident. STEEN was flown via
Mercy Flight to ECMC for treatment of chest and leg injuries. North Java, Strykersville and Varysburg Fire
Departments assisted along with the Wyoming County HAZMAT Team and Monroe
Medics. The investigation is continuing.
