Hornell woman killed in Hartsville crash
A single vehicle accident that was discovered at about 6:13
a.m. Monday, claimed the life of a Hornell women. The New York State Police from Wayland and N.
Hornell were dispatched to County Road 108 in the Town of Hartsville, when a
passing motorist discovered the wreckage.
Senior State Police Investigator Curt Eaton said a vehicle operated by
Colleen E. Harold, age 36, of #44 Erie Ave. was traveling northwest on Ct. Rt.
#108, and failed to negotiate a downhill, left curve. The vehicle exited the roadway onto the right
shoulder; traveled down an embankment; and impacted a tree at the front, passenger
side door. Steuben County Coroner Brian
May responded to the scene, and ordered the body removed to the Monroe Co.
Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The Canisteo Ambulance and Fire Dept. assisted at the scene. Investigation into the cause of the accident
is ongoing.
