On June 3, 2017, Troopers arrested Jonathon D. Phipps, 36, of Belmont, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.Troopers stopped Phipps on State Route 19 in the Village of Belmont for an inadequate muffler. While interviewing Phipps, Troopers allegedly observed prescription medication in plain view in the vehicle for which the driver had no prescription. Also discovered in the vehicle was a bag of marihuana. Phipps was taken into custody and transported to SP Amity for processing. He was released on tickets and is due in the Village of Belmont Court on 6/21/17 at 7:00 p.m.
