Thomas H. “Tom” Engle, 74, of Ulysses, PA, passed away
Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA. Born February 6, 1943, in Detroit, MI, he was
the son of Francis E. and Gertrude “Trudy” Witkop Engle. A Vietnam War Veteran, he served honorably
with the US Marine Corps from 1960 – 1965.
On November 26, 1965, in Traverse City, MI, he married the former Kay F.
Kear, who survives. He owned and
operated Master Clean from 1966 – 2001 and Engle’s Burger Hut from 1974 –
1979. Tom was a member of the Ulysses
Free Methodist Church and the Ulysses Area Improvement Association. He loved his canine companion, Biggie. Surviving besides his wife, Kay, are: three children, Brian Engle of Stuarts Draft,
VA, a daughter, Michele (Daryl) Wright of Coudersport, PA, and Stephen (Alicia)
Engle of Marstons Mills, MA; seven
grandchildren, Rachele (Jermaine) Morris, Ashley (Zack) Dotson, Gage Wright,
Christian Engle, Katie Wright, Carmeron Engle, and Gracen Engle; one great-grandson, Eli Martin; and a sister, Joyce E. Kovalcik of Albany,
NY; nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday, May 29, 2017 from
6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses,
PA. Funeral Services will be held 11:00
a.m., Tuesday in the Ulysses Free Methodist Church. The Rev. Marty Zdrojewski will
officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by members of
the Potter County Honor Guard. Memorials
