Obituary: Earl Rogers Jr., 91, Bolivar
BOLIVAR — Earl Rogers
Jr., of 461 Main St., Bolivar,
and formerly of Portville,
passed away Thursday
(April 27, 2017) at Olean
General Hospital after a
short illness.
Born on Dec. 22, 1925,
in Mansfield, he was a son
of the late Earl Arthur and
Leona Crosby Rogers Sr.
Earl resided in Bolivar
the past 38 years. He was
a veteran of World War II,
serving with the U.S. Army
Air Corps. He was president
of Portville Forest Products
Inc. and then president of
Forrest Lands Corp.
He was a member of
Portville American Legion
Post 814. Earl enjoyed
going to antique shows,
and he collected jugs and
old crocks.
Survivors include Connie
Sadler, his loving companion
of 38 years; three
children, Elaine (Bob Topor)
Rogers of Allentown, Karen
(Mark Covert) Mott of
Bolivar and Gordon (Darcy)
Rogers of West Clarksville;
two stepchildren, Lori
(Steve) Mayes of California
and Mike (Diana Scott)
Wolfgang of North Carolina;
a stepdaughter-in-law,
Brenda Childs of Bolivar; 13
grandchildren, Matt, Jessica,
Nathan, Shawn, Jason,
Michelle, Cory, Ryan, April,
Emily, Rachael, Christopher
and Justin; three stepgrandsons,
Jesse, Kyle and
Michael; three step-granddaughters,
Nicole, Jennifer
and Cari; several greatgrandchildren;
and two
sisters, Crystal Cucchino
of Olean and Greta
Randolph of Rushford.
Earl was predeceased
by two sons, Morris Rogers
and Phillip Rogers; a daughter,
Nancy Phillips; three
brothers, Dennis, David
and Robert; and two sisters,
Teresa and Maxine.
Friends are invited to a
celebration of life at 2 p.m.
Saturday, May 13, 2017,
at the Bolivar Golf Club.
Arrangements are under the
direction of the Guenther
Funeral Home Inc.
