Allegany County Sheriff's Blotter

Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Wellsville Police Department, arrested Shane A. Doan, age 30 of Scio, NY charging him with Unlawful Growing of Cannabis and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. The charges stem from an investigation by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and the Allegany County Probation Department, where Doan was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana plants growing at his residence. Doan was arrested without incident at the Wellsville Police Department, processed, and transported to the Town of Alma Court where he was arraigned and remanded to the Allegany County Jail with bail set at $2,500 cash/$5,000 bond. Doan is to reappear in the Town of Scio Court on May 2nd 2017 at 5:00 p.m. for additional court action.

Deputies arrested David L. Phearsdorf, age 33 of Cuba, NY on an Allegany County Violation of Probation Warrant. Phearsdorf was arrested without incident at the Allegany County Jail when he arrived to serve his intermittent sentence, processed, and held at the Allegany County Jail without bail. Phearsdorf is to reappear in Allegany County Court at the next available session for additional court action.
