Jared J. Acquard, 23 of Freedom, was arrested following a
traffic stop on West Main Street in the Village of Arcade on January 29th.
Acquard was stopped after one of the headlights on his vehicle was observed not
working. A roadside investigation revealed Acquard to allegedly be in
possession of marijuana and was arrested for DWAI following field sobriety
testing. Acquard was transported to the Arcade Police Department where he
underwent a drug influence evaluation.
Following the evaluation, Acquard was alleged to be impaired by Cannabis
and unable to operate a vehicle safely. He was charged with unlawful possession
of marijuana, inadequate headlamp, and driving while ability impaired by a
drug. Acquard will answer the charges in the Village of Arcade Court on
February 22nd. Assisting with the arrest was Officer Jared Binkleman of the
Arcade Police Department.

An arcade man is facing numerous charges after a traffic
stop for driving on the wrong side of the road. Vincent A. Schaub, 20 of
Arcade, was observed by Deputy Chase making an erratic turn onto Perry Road and
then driving down the left lane of traffic. Following a traffic stop and
roadside investigation, Schaub was allegedly found to be in possession of
marijuana and alcohol while only being 20 years of age. Schaub was arrested for
DWI following roadside field sobriety testing. Schaub was transported to the
Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he supplied a breath sample showing a
small amount of alcohol still in his system. Schaub was then placed through a
drug influence evaluation and was determined to be allegedly impaired by
alcohol, cannabis, and a central nervous system depressant and was unable to
operate a vehicle safely. Schaub was charged with underage possession of
alcohol, unlawful possession of marijuana, speed not reasonable and prudent,
failure to keep right, driving while ability impaired by a drug, and driving
while ability impaired by a combination of drugs and alcohol. Schaub was
arraigned in the Town of Sheldon Court and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail
on $500 cash bail or $2,500 bond. Schaub will return to the Town of Sheldon
Court on March 6th.
