Obituary: Royce A. Chapman, 57, West Clarksville

WEST CLARKSVILLE - Royce A. Chapman, of 8754 County Road 40, West Clarksville passed away Tuesday (Jan. 31, 2017) at his home. Born June 13, 1959, in Olean, Royce was the son of Ronald and Elizabeth Lamberton Chapman. A resident of West Clarksville most of his life, he was a graduate of Richburg High School. Royce was employed at Acme Electric in Cuba and later at Kabar Cutlery in Olean, and was currently employed at Dresser Rand. He loved hunting, playing the guitar, live music and the Buffalo Bills. He is survived by his father, Ronald; two sons, Royce (Chelsea) Chapman Jr. of Delevan and Justin (Elizabeth) Chapman of Cuba; a daughter, Nicole Karst of Olean; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Richard (Delores) Chapman of Portville, Ronald Chapman of Jacksonville, Fla., and Raymond Chapman of West Clarksville; four sisters, Shirley Pierce of Olean, Cheryl (Robert) Warner of Obi, Sharon (Bernie) Simmons of Belfast, and Cathy Chapman of Gainesville, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Royce was predeceased by his mother on Nov. 24, 2016; and two brothers, John Wilson and Randall Chapman. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday (Feb. 6, 2016) at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main St., Portville, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 7, 2017). The Rev. Andrew Hall, pastor of CrossTown Alliance Church, Olean, will officiate.
