Fire destroys Scio building

Fire Friday morning destroyed a Scio building, located at the corner of County Road 9 (Knights Creek Road) and Snowball Hollow Road. The first unit on scene reported the building was fully engulfed in flames. Responding to the scene were fire departments from Scio, Belmont and Allentown. Wellsville Ambulance stood by at the scene although no serious injuries were reported. Officials said the building was burned to the ground. At 2:30 a.m. the water supply operation was terminated and some of the equipment was returned to service. Fire investigators are probing the cause.
