BREAKING: Reports indicate former Dresser-Rand property in Wellsville sold

Rumors have been floating for weeks about a deal to purchase the Siemen's (former Dresser-Rand) property on Coats Street in Wellsville. In April, the company ended its manufacturing operations cutting numerous jobs and other workers were redistributed. Wellsville Mayor Randy Shayler this afternoon confirmed that he has a meeting at 11 a.m. Tuesday with a representative of the prospective new owner to learn more. Shayler wouldn't comment on who the new owner is or what the plans are saying "I'll know more tomorrow." Speculation has been wide-ranging, growing in intensity in recent weeks. The departure of Siemen's from Wellsville left a gaping hole in the local economy, and any encouraging news is welcome.
