Cuba Police Department news

In direct response to one of the suggestions from our community message board, the Cuba Police Department would like to introduce Officer Radomski to the Cuba Community. Officer Radomski was hired last October and has been a welcomed addition to our department. Here is some background information on Officer Radomski in his own words:
My interest in law enforcement began during my time in high school.  In the summer before my senior year I was selected to attend the NYS American Legion’s Boys State Program held at SUNY Morrisville. The program consists of classes that teach participants about government as well as portions that are taught by military personnel. In portions taught by military personnel, Marines instructed participants in drill and ceremony, physical training, and supervised housing. After completing the Boy’s State Program, I decided that I wanted to seek a career in either law enforcement or military service.
After graduation, I enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program at Jamestown Community College and the ROTC program at St. Bonaventure University. I participated in both programs for two years and graduated from JCC with an associate degree in 2014. At this time, I applied to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s academy and was awaiting the possibility of a contract through ROTC. Shortly after applying I was sponsored by Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office and selected to attend the next academy. I chose to take the opportunity to begin my training for a career in law enforcement at this time. I completed the Sheriff’s academy in the spring of 2016 and began working at several agencies part-time. In 2018, I was hired on to a full-time position at the Village of Allegany Police Department. I remained at the Village of Allegany Police Department until fall of 2019 when I lateral transferred to a full-time position at the Cuba Police Department. In my time in law enforcement I have had the opportunity to attend many trainings that have allowed me to further my knowledge in the field. I am a certified general topics instructor in NYS, a certified Glock armorer, an ALICE Instructor, and a Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Instructor through The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
In my free time I enjoy riding motorcycles, hunting, hiking, and anything that allows me to be outdoors or active. I am also a member of my local fire department, EMS, and am a member of the department’s Technical Rescue Team as a Basic Rope Technician. This team is certified in rope rescue, water rescue, and confined space rescue. In the future, when classes begin again, I would like to continue my training and become an advanced rope technician as well as certified in water rescue.
