Bath: Vehicle crash shuts down I-86 WB on Saturday

At 3:42p.m. Saturday Sept. 14th, the Bath Volunteer Fire Department and the Volunteer Ambulance Corps of Bath were dispatched to a one vehicle roll over on I-86 west of Exit 38. Upon arrival of the first officer on scene, the lone occupant was out of the SUV and did not appear to have sustained serious injury. The ambulance crew and AMR Advanced Life Support of Corning, looked him over at the scene and he was then transported to IRA Davenport Hospital in Bath to be checked out by physician. The driver was wearing a seat belt which surely kept his injuries minimal. The cause of the accident is being determined by the New York State Police who were on scene. The west bound lane of traffic was shut down for about 1/2 hour while the incident was cleaned up and the vehicle removed. All Bath Fire units were clear and back in service at 4:21p.m. Photo courtesy of John Walczak.
