Travel Advisory - State Route 248, Stannards to Whitesville

TRAVEL ADVISORY

State Route 248, from State Route 19 in Stannards to Whitesville
Town of Independence, Allegany County

The New York State Department of Transportation today announced that paving on State Route 248 from State Route 19 in Stannards to Whitesville, Allegany County, will begin Tuesday, May 28, 2019, weather permitting.  The road will receive a chip seal treatment. This project is anticipated to last approximately three days.

Traffic will be maintained with a one lane, two-way alternating flagging operation. The public should expect delays. 

It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones they will encounter this season.

Motorists are urged to slow down and safely move over when approaching roadside vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights, including maintenance and construction vehicles in work zones.
