Arrest made in Steuben stabbing that critically injured woman

A violent confrontation last night on State Route 415 in Campbell left a woman badly injured and a man facing criminal charges. Deputies and state troopers responded and said a woman had been critically hurt when she was stabbed. Sheriff Jim Allard identified the suspect as Nicholas Rideout. He was taken into custody following an extensive search. Allard told 18 News Rideout was allegedly holding a knife when he was confronted by law enforcement. Police used a taser to subdue the suspect when he refused to comply. He was later taken to a hospital for treatment. The investigation continues.
