Allegany County prosecutors, social services crack down on welfare abuse

Here is a synopsis of the following Welfare Fraud cases recently prosecuted by the Allegany County District Attorney's Office after investigations by the Allegany County Department of Social Services and the New York State Police:
1.)  People of the State of New York versus Robert E. Bowker, Jr., and Lori A. Bowker, both of 4421 West Sciota Street, Scio, New York, 14880.  Both were arrested on September 13, 2018.  Each of them were found guilty of Welfare Fraud in the Fifth Degree.  Both were sentenced to a Conditional Discharge and ordered to pay $1,950.00 in restitution to the Allegany County Department of Social Services based on their criminal conduct of providing false information on their applications to receive benefits from Allegany County.

2.)  1.)  People of the State of New York versus Ashley Coleman-Greiss, of 946 Harrigan Road, Whitesville, New York, 14897.  She was arrested on December 10, 2018.  She was found guilty of Welfare Fraud in the Fifth Degree.  She was sentenced to a Conditional Discharge and ordered to pay $3,500.00 in restitution to the Allegany County Department of Social Services based on her criminal conduct of providing false information on her application to receive benefits from Allegany County.
