Obituary: Grant E. Kemp III, 42, Wellsville


WELLSVILLE - Grant E. Kemp III, 42, of 193 Pine Street died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. He was born December 4, 1975 in Wellsville, the son of Grant E. and Janet (Weinhauer) Kemp Jr. On December 30, 2015 in Wellsville he married Sheila A. Jeffers who survives.
Grant was raised in Wellsville and was a 1995 graduate of Wellsville High School. He was a 1997 graduate of Alfred State College, School of Applied Technology, with a degree in Electrical-Mechanical Systems. He was first employed by Corning Glass in Erwin, and Pizza King and Kwik Fill in Wellsville. He later owned and operated Kemp's Moving and Hauling, and was a self employed electrical contractor. More recently he worked for TEI Analytical Services and was currently an industrial radiographer for JANX. He was an avid outdoors-man who loved nature, going to music festivals, and the bands, Phish, and the Grateful Dead. He enjoyed collecting arrowheads, riding motorcycles, and snowmobiling.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Tyler Grant Kemp of Wellsville, Taytin (Sabrina) Scott of Belmont, and Braden Scott of Wellsville, his mother, Janet (Bill Sweet) Kemp of Wellsville, his father, Grant (Linda) Kemp Jr. of Wellsville, two sisters, Jessie Kemp,  and Samantha (Pete) Jacobs, one brother, Josey Kemp, his maternal grandfather, William Weinhauer of Wellsville, his maternal grandmother, Marlene Rose of Wellsville, paternal grandmother, Onalee Hackett of Wellsville, his mother-in-law, Jacque (Edwin) Gilmore of Hinsdale, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Tom Hackett.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 19, from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville.
