Mitrano Announces Leadership Conference for Young Women

CORNING—Democratic Congressional Nominee Tracy Mitrano (NY-23) announced that applications are now open for a Young Women’s Leadership Conference to be held at Union Hall in Corning on Sunday, October 21 from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
The conference will feature presentations and break-out sessions with three local leaders: Nancy Bargar, former Majority Leader of the Chautauqua County Legislature, Leslie Danks Burke, community leader and former State Senate candidate, and Sydney Hewit, Corning high school student and local organizer. The conference will also give girls from across the Southern Tier the chance to engage with one another.
All young women between the ages of 13 and 19 living in New York’s 23rd Congressional District are encouraged to apply.
“I’ve met so many young women who are passionate and engaged with what’s going on in the world today,” Mitrano said. “These girls are our future. I’m very excited about this conference, which I hope will give these young women an opportunity to engage with their community and their peers, and most of all, to see themselves as potential leaders.”
The event is a fundraiser for Mitrano’s Congressional campaign, but there is no cost whatsoever for attendees, who will each be sponsored by a donor. Girls can also indicate on the application if they are in need of transportation to the conference, as the campaign will be arranging rides for those that need it from anywhere in the district.
Those interested in applying for the conference can fill out an online application at this link: www.tracymitranoforcongress.com/girls. Potential applicants can contact events@tracymitranoforcongress.com with any questions.
Applications are due by Monday, October 1st.
