Belmont: One-Day Entrepreneur Training Course to be Offered at Crossroads Center on Oct. 10

BELMONT – Together with the Allegany County IDA and the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Administration (SBA) and SCORE Buffalo Niagara present, “Starting and Managing Your Own Business,” a one-day workshop for entrepreneurs on Wednesday, October 10, from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Crossroads Commerce & Conference Center.

In this condensed workshop, participants will receive expert guidance on business organization and management in order to start a new business or improve an existing business.

“This one-day workshop is a great opportunity to learn the fundamentals of starting, organizing, and managing your own business without an extended time-commitment.  I think the abbreviated format of this course will be appealing to entrepreneurs looking to get their business plan in motion,” said Craig Clark, Executive Director of the Allegany County IDA.

“Creating opportunities for diverse entrepreneurship are at the heart of our economic development initiatives in Allegany County – workshops like this one are valuable in getting business plans off the ground, and maybe even more importantly, making connections with the right resources who can help support your business; both the SBA and SCORE have a proven track record of effective mentorship to entrepreneurs invested in the long-term success of their start-up,” concluded Clark.

Registration fees have been waived for Siemens/Dresser-Rand employees laid off in 2018; there will be a $20 fee for veterans and $40 fee for all others.

Those who wish to complete the workshop should contact Gregory Lindberg at the Buffalo SBA Office by email at Gregory.Lindberg@sba.gov or phone at (716) 551-4301 to register.
