Belmont: Another water rescue on Genesee River

Belmont firefighters and Amity Rescue were sent to the Genesee River at 'the Falls' for a water rescue Wednesday morning. The Wellsville Rescue Swift water rescue Team was also dispatched to assist. When first responders arrived, the man was not in peril, but rather couldn't safely return to dry land.
The Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps issued this statement via Facebook:
This morning at approximately 7:41 a.m. Wellsville Ambulance’s Rescue Squad was dispatched with our Water Rescue Team to assist Belmont Fire and Amity Rescue with a water rescue at the Belmont Falls.
Wellsville Rescue 1 (
Corey Smith) with a crew of 6 under the command of EMS Chief Erik J. Potter responded to the incident. The citizen in need of assistance was rescued without incident and all units returned to service shortly after 9 a.m.
The unidentified man was not injured.
