Scholes supports Mackney for Sheriff

Letter from retired Allegany County Sheriff Larry Scholes:
Concerned Citizens of Allegany County and my friends and neighbors it is time to come together again as one; regardless of your political persuasion. We are at the door to a very unique opportunity to elect Walt Mackney Sheriff of Allegany County. When I was your Sheriff we stood to make our voices heard, we were not mushrooms and we were not waiting to make a stand for the good of our county. We are people of common sense who knew we stood to lose much if we didn't let our voices be heard.
I have known Walt Mackney for nearly forty years. We were both police officers, different uniforms but of very similar thinking. He has much to offer the sheriff's office in the form of experience, leadership and a true professional in his performance of his duties as well as a calm professional demeanor in working with citizens and other law enforcement agencies.
His well-mannered, common sense approach to working for and with those he represents is well known. You the citizens of this county are our most precious gift. You have already proved that loud and clear, strong, independent and brave people of every walk of life willing to give all of yourselves for the good of this county and so is Walt Mackney.
Please think back to a time when we had so much to lose. We stood tall and said enough of this- we are not fooled. Stand again and make Walt Mackney our greatest Sheriff.
I do not normally look to involve myself in the political arena but I feel so strongly we must not let this opportunity pass us by.
