Obituary: Charlene E. Van Dusen-Wilcox, 74, Cuba


Charlene E. Van Dusen-Wilcox:  Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother
CUBA - Charlene E. Van Dusen-Wilcox, 74, of 530 Linwood Drive, Cuba, departed abruptly to be with the Lord, Friday, June 22, 2018, shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital. Born on August 6, 1943, in North Tonawanda, New York, she was daughter of Wesley and Delphine (nee Colson) Iulg. On April 4, 1992, in Cheektowaga, she married Gary Lee Van Dusen who predeceased her on October 12, 2012. Then on March 28, 2015, at the West Clarksville Baptist Church, she married Arthur L. Wilcox who survives.
Charlene was a devoted wife, loving mother, and was an exceptional grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her perfect grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charlene loved her flower gardens and was an avid traveler, having toured Ireland, Italy, Costa Rica, Israel, and many destinations throughout the United States.
She attended the Believers Chapel in Olean and was also a member of the West Clarksville Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school and was extremely active with her church family.
In addition to her husband she is survived by six children, Donald Gill, Jr. of Cheektowaga, Lisa (Joseph) Simon of Chantilly, VA, Teresa (Timothy) Heath of Cheektowaga, Lori Ward of Cheektowaga, Steven (Ilaria) Gill of Birmingham, England, and Anthony (Lisa) Gill of Corning. Her extended family, Cathy Onions, David (Deborah) Van Dusen, and Ronald Van Dusen, all of Amherst, and Michael (Brenda) Van Dusen of Florida. She is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the oldest of five siblings and survived by her four brothers, Raymond (Anita) Iulg of Lyndonville, NY, Thomas (Constance) Iulg of Tonawanda, NY, Gilbert (Lorrie) Iulg of Ogdensburg, NY, and Gerald (Sandra) Iulg of Bridgeton, NJ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Tuesday, June 26, from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9  p.m. Funeral Services to be held on Wednesday, June 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Believers Chapel, 2000 Constitution Ave, Olean, NY 14760.  The Rev. Sean Obergfell will officiate.  Burial will be in West Clarksville Cemetery, Town of Clarksville, New York. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rinkerfuneralhome.com.
